Maths Reflection T3W5


IALT: Write a reflection Maths that I did by doing the task

Today, I have been doing some maths lately and I wanted to show to you what I have done or completed in Maths. 

This is a task of all the question and how it is made to increase my thinking and by only using Multiplication and Division. The word problem for today was "Baker Bob tarts, Biscuits and muffins. This is what he has for sale when he opens his shop on tuesday morning'. The tarts has 12 for a $1 each, 24 Biscuits for $1 each, 12 muffins for $2 each. The first question to this answer is 'How many tarts, Biscuits and muffins has he baked altogether?'. So what I have done is that I have drawn 4 groups of 3 to make 12, Then I drawn 8 groups of 3 to make 24 and after that I drawn 4 groups of 3 to make 12 again. Then after that I equally them by only using Multiplication and Division. For tarts, I written 4 x 3 = 12 and then after that I divided that number by using 12 / (divided by) 3 which equals 4 because 4 x 3 is 12 and same as goes for 3 x 8 equals 24 and 24 / 3 = 8 for Biscuits, And also the same for the tarts because the muffins has the same as the tarts.

Maths Reflection




IALT: Reflect on how I worked it out with this question.

I am going to be reflecting on about how I worked out this question using my strategies to figure out the answer. This was my question, 'Emily bought 12 packets of hair ties. There were 4 hair ties in each packet. emily, Millee, and Sam all worked out the total number of hair ties differently'. And one of these strategies will have the right answer for this word problem. The first one was Emily's strategy. 'I know that 12 x 2 is 24. So 12 x 4 is double 24. 12 x 4 = 48'. Next is Millee strategy. 12 x 4 = 4 x 12 4 x 12 = (4 x 10) + (4 x 2) = 40 + 8 = 48. And the last strategy is Sam's. '12 x 4 = 4 x 12 = (5 x 12) - 12. 5 x 12 = (5 x 10) + (5 x 2) = 50 + 10 = 60. 12 x 4 = 60 - 12 = 48. One of the best strategy that I liked is Millee strategy. The reason why is because he/she is using times table to answer it in a different way than using Addition and Takeaways. And also using a bracket to solve the answer faster.

Cybersmart reflection



IALT: Write a reflection about our Cybersmart Map.

Today I am going to be talking about my cybersmart map. This is a map the things on my history computer that I have went to sense the time I went on those websites. On my map I start from my google presentation. The yellow picture means that I have been doing some of my work on a Google Presentation. Then after that I went to Google searching about the things that I want for my work. After google I went to Google Drawing where I started a work with a template on it. The after Drawing, I go to Google Document and then after that I go to youtube where I search up a video of my work and then after that it will end on Google drive where I check my work to see what I have not completed. The reason why I have created a map of what I went on with my computer is because to check my history to see if I have been on the right website if not. This was for our cybersmart work so that When we create a map like I did. It will tell us when did you start and when did you finish at the end.

My Own DLO of a Padlet

IALT:Create my own Dream of what I want to be in a DLO or a Padlet.

Today I had created myself a Padlet, The reason why I have created this is because is because I had written my self with a sheet of all the things about me and what my work will be or a dream.
This is the picture of a sheet that I did with Room 10 and my class Room 9. What I have written on it was about me. Then after that I had written the things of people that look up to me, I had put my family in it because so that they will support me when I am at work playing Basketball on training or on a Basketball game. Then after that I have written the Important things in my life will be is being able to work hard in my learning so that I can get a better education and able for me to go to collage and learning some advanced work. The next section is about my work which is becoming a Basketball player and the reason why I want to become a basketball player is because I want to be like Steven Adams and being able to play a center Position.

Technology Reflection

IALT: To reflect on Technology

This week on Thursday, We had our Technology at Tamaki Collage. At Tamaki Collage we were going their for our technology. My group went to the graphics room with Mrs Ferguson. We were finishing off our clocks for our family to bring so that it looks like a real clock. People were doing the painting part so that they can design their clocks for their parents. Some of my friends were painting a bull shape, Shield shape and others with decorations. I painted myself a cook island flag with the stars white and the whole background blue. But first I finished drawing my work shape that I have to do and then after that I gave to our Graphic teacher for scanning the shape, Then after that, Mrs Ferguson put me and friend perenara paper of our shapes into another scanner where she places all of the shapes into a square box and then she puts a flat smooth wood onto a cutting machine but with a laser so that it can cut easily. Then after when it finished. I then had got a back one and a front clock so that when we paint our clocks. We would put our attachments into our clocks and it would look like a clock.

Dream of What I want to Be

WALT: Write about our Dreams of what we I want to be.

Today, Mrs Aireen told us about what is career. Career is something that people would find a job that is helpful for them. It depends on the paycheck when sometimes jobs have a lot of paycheck because they are expensive but bigger paycheck. That is why Miss Arieen teach about What is Career?. This is a presentation about our dreams of what we want to be. I chose 3 of my work that I have chose for myself. My first one is basketball and the reason why I chose my favorite sport to play is basketball is because I want to be a Center position just like the New Zealander NBA Player Steven Adams. My second dream is a undercover person. So when I know that their someone that is doing something dangerous, Then I would call the police and to make sure no one gets hurt. My next is my dream. My dream for me is to become a Businessmen. The reason why I want to be a businessmen is because so that I can look after my family by showing the school values and supporting my family for what I have achieved. This is will help me in the future so when I forget what I want to be then I can choose from one of these dreams that I want to be.

Kiwisport Day 2

WALT: Write a Reflection about Day 2 Kiwisport.
On Day 2, Today we had hip hop for Kiwi sport. We were reflecting on the Hip hop brainstorm and their were 4 elements that are connected to Hip hop dance or Artist. 

The first one is rap and rap is like writing a song of what you wanted to name and making a rhythm out of it. The second element is DJ and DJ has been one of the most popular music instrument but with equipment. The DJ was started in around the 1970's. The third element is Break dancing. Break dancing is different to Hip Hop but doing it on the streets. Break dancing started in america at New York in 1973 where people would enjoy dancing by doing any other type of their moves that they have got. The last one is Art/Graffiti. People were doing some artist like Graffiti in the 1967 and some of the people liked doing Graffiti but sometimes others didn't want some of the art to be put on buildings. That is the four elements of hip hop, The second Reflection is the dance moves. Our kiwi sport teacher teach us the same dance moves but with new moves. The new dance moves are 'The Janet Jackson' dance and 'The Alf' dance. So our teacher teached us these moves and doing the recent dance moves that we did last Monday. We did the dance in order. 'Smurf' dance 1x, 'James Brown' dance 1x, 'Janet Jackson' dance 1x and 'The Alf dance' 1x. After we practice these moves in order, We get in a circle and we started to do some freestyle moves. What it means by Freestyle is that you can do any moves that comes up in your mind.

Timeus - New for Fitness

IALT: Write a Reflection about our New Exercise for Fitness.

On Monday, Room 9 and Room 10 were at the Netball courts at school for fitness. All of the students were lining up in our three groups so that we can go and do our exercise. But miss changed it up, The whole class of Room 9 and 10 had to run around the school and back to where we started fitness. So me and the rest of the classes lined up on the other entrance to the school. When miss said 3,2,1, GO. We ran and we turn left on the foot path. When I was running, Some of the people were showing resilience. Resilience means that people were not giving up and also they were trying their best of giving their time to finish at the end. What it made me found challenging when I was running was that I had to walk because I was too tired to run but I had never give up and I had tried my best to jog it out and just keep on running to the end. When we reached the other school entrance. We had to jog or run straight where along their is a green fence. So we run straight through them and I tried my best to not give up. I some how slowed down because one of my friends were kind of tired so I had help my friend to show the school values. When we got to the end, I was so tired that I had ran out of energy but I had done my very own best.

Timeus - Doing the right thing Online


IALT: Write on a Google Drawing about Doing the right thing before Going online

This is a google drawing of what I did by myself, This task was for my cybersmart learning. The reason why I am posting this blog post is because some people are writing bad comments to each other and showing no good behavior to other. To that I had put down the things that will help people to understand what it means by this Google Drawing. So before you do something online then you must read this before you post online and that will make people sure that they will do the right thing even when no one is looking. In my google drawing, I have put a person going online. This shows that this person is posting something online that show's nice a kindness post's to make people happier. And another image that I had put up is a another person thinking about something that he should write to his friend. This will help people to think about something that he could write to his friend about what he did in the weekend.

Timeus - New Kiwi Sport 'Hip Hop Dance'

IALT: Write a reflection about our New Kiwi Sport

On Monday, We had our New Kiwi Sport and it was 'hip hop'. Hip hop is like famous people are making music by using hip hop sounds for their music but sometimes hip hop can lead to dancing. Our new Kiwi Sport teacher was a lady that she came from the UK but sound a bit like a New Zealander. She teach us about the 4 ways of Hip Hop dancing. The 4 hip hop dancing are Break Dancing, Rap and the two other groups. We also learned the James brown dance which you can check it out on youtube of what it is by this dance. The next one we have is the smurf dance but not like in the cartoon. Our teacher told us to get into a line and we practice dancing with these dancing moves so that when our teacher plays the music then our teacher would do the moves and we have to follow it. Some of the people were showing resilience because they were not giving up and also they were trying their best and also my friends that gave their best. What found challenging for me was that the most difficult move that I have gave my best was the James Brown Move. It was hard for Me but I gave it all that I have got and I also never give up.

Timeus - Cook Island Tivaevae with Room 3 Buddies


IALT: Write a reflection about our Cook Island Tivaevae with room 3.

Today Me, Room 9 and Room 3 were asked from Room 3's teacher Mrs Barlow to create a Tivaevae using either google drawing or Drawing/cutting with paper. The reason why Mrs Barlow asked us to create a Tivaevae was because it was Cook Island Language week and people were celebrating it with lot's of people. And also did you guys know that more than 62,000 Cook Islanders are living in New Zealand, I am a cook islander but half cook islander and I just came from the pacific island's and I was born in New Zealand. My buddy Garth Chose one of his favorite tivaevae that he likes and I put his favorite ones on a Google drawing and share it to their teacher when we are done. I really liked his choices because it helps to represent the cook islanders and also showing the school values to each and every one of the people in New Zealand

Timeus - Kiwi Can Reflection T2

On Tuesday, We had our Term 2 Kiwi Can from our finished holidays. I was so excited to be back at Kiwi Can with room 9, We had our Kiwi Can teachers from school and our topic is that we were going to be talking about is Resilience. By the word Resilience, It means that you never give up on what you do or trying as best as you can. So we got into group and we had to try and act that topic by pretending to do that act for example, Sad, Angry, Annoyed which are emotions but with music. We tried our best to do that act with the music, Oh and the people in their group's had to guess the emotions so that the other group can do their thing. This is helping resilience by trying your best and never give up. The next activity that we did was that we had to create a act and trying to post that to show resilience. What I found about this activity challenging was that it was helping me show resilience by doing that act from the pose and it was easy to do it.

Timeus - Tuakana Teina Day/Buddies Pamphlet Drawing



WALT: Write a reflection about our Tuakana Teina Day and working our Pamphlet with our buddies.

Today I am going to be talking about reflection about my Tuakana Teina Day and our work was to publish our buddies Pamphlet online. Today we went to room 3 for again's Tuakana Teina Day for the whole day. What it means by Tuakana Teina day is that we got to our classes every friday sometimes and we get into our buddies and try to work with them of what they are finishing at. So my buddy was Elijah and I helped him with something that he was finishing off was my buddie's Pamphlet. Here is a Google drawing of my buddie's Pamphlet that I did online

This is my Pamphlet of what I did with my buddy. What I wrote with my buddy was about fitness and how to stay healthy by eating the right food. So what my buddy put on our google drawing was Mandarin's, Oranges and apples. And also their are two photo's that are related to eat healthy and also eating the right food. This reason why we are writing about how to stay healthy is because so that we can eat right food that is best and healthy so that we can start losing some of the sugar and the weight of our body's. This also will help to gain our well - being to the next level and being able to do fitness everyday or sometimes a day.

Timeus - Maths Survivors Reflection about 'What is the total & Activity 3

IALT: Write up maths problems about this title called 'What is the total & Activity'. And how I got the answer

Today I am going to be talking about my maths reflection about my problems that I solved using the questions that I have answered. But I am going to be showing you the question that I did and How I solve it or tried to solve it in more and another way of solve my strategic to answer my question. What I faced about this question was that it found hard to try and think but then I used my head to try and work it out by using multiple way of strategies.

Here is my first question
'
This is the question of my maths topic 'Fractions and wholes'. But this task was a practical because it helps me to practice my Fractions and wholes by using this practical question to solve my work. My first instruction was to draw a circle but of my own copy and then I have to put 5 counters on the red part of the circle and then I had to answer this question, 'a. What fraction of the circle is the red part?'. This question was hard for me to solve because I put 5 counters on the red part and then this question told me to answer which fraction of the rd part. So I think it over the question for the answer and then when I realised that I had found the question that I was looking for.

The Second question
The second question is to 'Put the same number counters on each of the other colours as well. So I put 5 on each part of the circle/colours and then I answered this question, 'How many counters are on the circle in total?'. So I had put my answer down which was 5/4. The reason why I put this answer down is because their is 5 counters on each part of the circle and then I figure it out by using the other question that I had answered which was the first task that was shown on the top and then the next ask me about this question 'What fraction of the circle is the red part?'. 

What I am learning to do 
What I was learning to do was to learn about how to use Fractions & Wholes and also how does work between fractions & wholes. The reason why is because so that I can get better on reaching my goal and high level of maths. This is because so that if I am stuck on a question that struggles me, Then sometimes I can use fractions and wholes to solve my answer or using addiction on my fractions and wholes.

WALT: I am learning to reflect on Where is Old Zealand? article reflection and what does it mean by this article.
Original imageToday I am going to be talking about Where is Old Zealand and what does it really mean by this article that I am reading. I found this article on my mail and I had found that their was a article that I was going to read, It was about Where is Old Zealand?. My mind think it over and over of where is Old Zealand and then I started to ask myself a different. What does it by 'Where is Old Zealand'?. One of the things that I have found was that Old Mexico is Mexico, Old York is York. But the real question is that where is Old Zealand. They say The first western explorer firsted land on what is known to be as New Zealand and it was a dutchman named Abel Tasman. He was first person to explore New zealand and discover the land of New Zealand, But a Englishman Explorer James cook first came to discover Cook Island just before stumbling upon New Zealand but he was the second to explore New Zealand. But James cook made three voyages to go to Nieuw Zeeland. What I found about this fact 'Three voyages gone to Nieuw Zeeland. This fact might be references to the country New Zealand because how it spells Nieuw and Zeeland and it makes New Zealand (Nieuw - Zee-land.

Yesterday, We had Mrs Shearing in our class for cybersmart and she was here to talk about another lesson but she was talking about our Quality blog post. We had done 3 sessions for our learning topic 'Quality Blog post'. What we did is that we go to our Room 9 site . And then you click on 'Cybersmart' Icon shown on the site.

You come across all different types of tasks that are for cybersmart, this is the site where Mrs Shearing asks us to go to this site to go to the right task so that we know what to do in this task. The next thing I am going to be showing you is a picture of what I did and where I would go to the task that I need to do.

This is the site of all of the cybersmart tasks. What I was working on was a google document of a cybersmart learning topic called 'Quality blog post'. On this doc, We had to Rate our blog posts to see if our blog posts are Quality blog post. The reason why so that no much of mistakes will occur on making a blog post. Timeus - Writing about What is Fitness? and What it means by 'Fitness?

WALT: Write about What is Fitness? and what it means by fitness

Today I am going to be talking about my reflection of What is Fitness?. This was to reflect on fitness and what it has to do with fitness and how does it help. Here I wrote a google Document about fitness

'Fitness is important because it helps people to gain energy in learning and around the globe. Fitness helps its unhealthy foods to reduce the types such as sugar and fat of the food products. Reduce that will help reduce your weight and also will help you to move faster in the world. Sometimes it requires energy drinks to make sure that you fuel up your whole body but sometimes other drinks have a lot of sugar which can cause. It helps you to achieve your well - being, Nutrition, Physical and more. Another way that is important is that sometimes when people have sugar in their body, It makes them tired faster but gets a sore hips when running, That is because they are starting to lose that sugar and lose more weight so that the sugar from the inside of the body can go out and start to reduce the sugar. More importantly, Fitness is useful of making your legs stronger. There are many ways to build up your physical and losing weight. You can go to the gym, Playing sports at anytime, and also athletics to help your agility so that you can move faster and quicker in any speed. Also fitness helps to your physical and helping your brain by gaining some energy on breakfast to develop your whole learning and brain faster. Also when you perform fitness, It helps your veins and also making sure that your bones grow stronger.

Here I wrote a lot of sentences about fitness, I am going to be reading it to you that you guys and understand what I had wrote by myself and also I will be highlighting the words that I found inside my story that is related to fitness.

In the Green colour, Words that are related to 'Fitness' e.g. (Weight, Reduce, Physical, Stronger, Agility, Well - Being, Nutrition and more)
In the red colour, Words that are not related to 'Fitness' e.g. (Sugar, Fat and Drinks), You can find words that are not related to 'Fitness'.

These are the words that I have highlighted which also helps to know what it means by Fitness and wanting to know what in needs of fitness, Some words may be found in these sentences and you can find by commenting on which word you find on one of my sentences and just post it in the comments. This will help people to try and googling about what are many ways to achieve in fitness.

Timeus - Pasifika Reflection talking about 'Taste of Tonga'

WALT: Share about my 'Pasifika' slide Reflection but I am going to be talking about my Google Presentation about 'Taste of Tonga.

Today I am going to be talking about Google Presentation about Pasifika but not only I am going to be talking about my Google Presentation slide that I had done by myself. What I wrote about this was talking about what it likes in tonga and history about tonga. The reason why I am doing this is because people what to know the polynesian islands of the south side of where New Zealand is. Here is a slide of what I did and what I wrote about Tonga.

This is a slide of the tittle, 'Taste of Tongan'.

I had been doing some research about Tongan. The first thing that I had done was that I had uploaded a image of the map of tonga and the flag which represents Tonga. Then on the side of the writing is the researched that I have for example, Part of the whole tongan population, In 2015, The population for tonga is 106,170. and this year the population for the year is 107,797.

This is a tapa cloth on the left and this image on the left shows a drawing by someone that had done a polynesian Tapa cloth. This tapa cloth represents the people that were in the islands long time ago and others become a god and protected the people and the sea. This image shows two fishs protecting the turtle and stars are gathered around the whales and the turtle. This patterns have a name for the fishes.

Timeus - Kiwisport Reflection


WALT: Talk about what we did at Kiwi sport and what the things that I had faced during this session.


Today at school. Me and room 7 went to kiwi sport at the basketball courts. It was our last session for today and we get to play Basketball games like ‘The golden Child and Basketball game. But first we had done some jogging. It was important to jog because it helps to make yourself Prepared and getting some of the energy to help you throughout the game. And it also us to stay fit and also this was part of our topic called ‘Fitness’. Doing fitness will help our well - being and the Nutrition of our bodies. When we did some jogging, We moved on to playing a team game called ‘The golden child’. What we did is that we were getting into our teams from the beginning
of our Kiwi sport. So our Kiwi sport teachers were giving us a one line and we told to go to each side on by on and side by side. And my team that we choice was Cavaliers. It was a team that they wanted to call for the basketball games at Kiwi sport. Then our team had to try and get the other people out while the other team starts to run all the way to

What I are the challenges that I had faced in this game 'The Golden child'.

One of the challenges that I had faced was that I keep missing every shot that I took but I keep trying until I get it right and also trying our best to win but we lose but then my mind thinked that we tried our best of winning but we gave it all that we got. And it made me feel happy and energised that I had a lot of energy inside my body and everyone else as well.

home. We had each turn to try and shoot the ball inside the hoop and then some of the players had stayed where they are because our team Cavaliers shoots the ball into the hoop and then one of our Kiwi sport teachers blow's the whistle to make them stop if the ball goes inside the hoop. I had a lot of fun playing this game but then we moved on to our Basketball game. Our same teams has to line on the side of the outline and we had to the opposite way instead of going the same way as the other team goes. We were playing a game but calling out a number of people to go and to try score a goal. In this game we were showing team work along with our students in our team and also the other also show supportive and contributing in the game and that is the same as our team which is the 'Cavaliers'. I enjoyed playing this game and it helped me build my learning up and getting some of the fresh air in a sunny day.
